So it’s been quite sometime since I’ve posted. I really do apologize for this, there has just been so much going on in my life. It’s hard to say why I haven’t found the time. I’m going to try and commit to blogging at least 3 times a week from now on though. for my own sake, and Katie likes reading them too After all of this time away I really dont have much to say. Me and Katie have gotten a lot better. We had been having a really rough time, but things have gotten so much better. Lets just say that we are feeling the way he haven’t in a long time. It’s great. Baseball has started, and I’m having fun. My favorite sport, It’s going to be good. I started playing RuneScape again. No hate. It’s fun, and believe me or not, it makes my mind move a certain way that only it can make it move. It’s hard to explain. It’s good though. It brings back some great memories as well. As pointless and foolish as it may seem, I really gain a lot from it. It’s deeper than a time wasting game for me. I really need to start writing these a little earlier if I’m going to get them out by 16:00 every Friday, oh well. The reason this week is that my life seems to have been completely consumed by Lionhead Studio’s Fable II. You may have noticed my quick message last week (which got more views than my damned story!) concerning my illness, I’ve taken the week off university and it didn’t take long for Fable II to take over. It appears that Runescape isn’t the only game capable of doing such a thing. If any of you are concerned, I’m feeling much better and my tonsils hardly hurt at all – however it has meant that I haven’t been able to drink for the past week because of the penicillin, curse you medicine! In fact doubly curse you, because I’m just that retarded that I simply can’t swallow tablets and have found myself being choked by the very things that are supposed to make me feel better. Madness. Anyway, during my week off I’ve been able to fully plan my dissertation topic for next year. This may sound boring but the title is going to be; Social, Environmental and Economic Issues of Energy Recovery Facilities – or something with those words in it. Energy Recovery is the use of incinerators to generate energy from household or industrial waste and requires a great deal less energy to run than it produces. However in the past it has always had a negative stigma about it, with people never wanting it near them – saying that no one wants any form of energy production near them; the Dengie Peninsula in Essex is great example of this. They had a Nuclear Power Station at Bradwell, they protested and it eventually got shutdown after a shift away from Nuclear Power, but to help fill the energy gap the government tried to put Wind Generators in the area and surprise surprise they didn’t want that either. Even the ‘green’ form of energy is hated by a disturbingly large number of the populace, with a shockingly large number of anti-climate change and anti-green energy groups on Facebook. Saying all this, I haven’t actually started writing it yet, but I am being proactive – in fact I’m going to a conference on the subject in London on the 19th March and I’ve become a member of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management . Yeh a rather short post this week, but in truth not much has happened really – things are going to pick up soon with the starts of the new Baseball and F1 seasons later this month. I’ll see you next week then. I don’t play runescape. However this weekend is a bonus xp weekend. So if you want to check it out its a good time to start. The notice says On the weekend of the 12th of March 2010, we will be running a “bonus XP weekend” for RuneScape members. When? Between the hours of 12:00PM GMT on Friday 12th March and 12:00PM GMT Monday 15th March (so, all of that Saturday and Sunday).

Many long term players have been around for when Runescape members was the low flat rate of $5. Many of our newer members now pay an extra $.99! But runescape is pushing those who don’t have members to join the party. Look at the latest update for example. You begin at a new log in screen separating the Members and Free players. They seem to be trying to market the product that members already pay for. The quests are silly to display on a log in page, how would you even have a slight idea of what it is when you are just joining? Doesn’t when you click to play on the home screen, ask if you are continuing your adventure or begin your own? Why register there when you can through the existing players button. There comes a point where it just get annoying. I think in every companys life span there will be a greed point. I think that Runescape sees a large amount of its free players logging in and wants them to pay the $6 per month. There is no problem trying to encourage others to play in the main portion of the game. There is just a point where it is a little much. JaGeX has also stated that the free version is the complete game and that members is simply an extension of that game. If that is the case then why is the free version 1/5th the total game play and so little offered to them? Free players haven’t been given a new quest since RSC which was years ago, while members get quest updates almost monthly. Members also have 9 more skills than free players making things easier to train together. Free players have 2 minigames while members have more than I can count on one hand. Runescape is really in my opinion trying to make f2p seem like its a large portion but what it truly is just a trial. Its all very interesting but you have to remember that JaGeX is a company and they are in the business of making money. Having ads, and promoting the full line of their game is what will bring in the cash even in tough times. I really don’t know what to say other that I hope that they don’t run the company into the ground as prior to Mod MMG Runescape was very different from what it is now. It may be for the better but we will have to ride the storm out to see a true result.

Hello! Today, Runescape added a few major changes to the Hitpoints which no longer exist, it’s constitution points now. The whole change? just basically makes it so you hit 10x harder then you normally would and have 10x more “Constitution” points then you used to. Here’s a picture demonstrating me hitting a 14.2 That’s sort of cool, right? I think Runescape did this update so instead of hitting 14’s we could hit like 147, which is pretty nice of them, don’t you think? Runescape has also made some updates to the login screen, but I’ll leave you to find those out -XxCrownlessKingxX
