Yeah, I got 86 con last night and built the natural house for my menagerie and that’s about all I’ve done this week. Other than killing Bork every day and buying sand and seaweed that’s all. There are things I want to do, like make pouches for summoning which I really like doing. So I say to myself, “Hey, I should totally do that today” and just the thought of going to the ancient caverns makes me ill. I don’t want to go down there and try to push my way into the throng of everyone else killing waterfiends for charms. After wasting 5 minutes trying to talk myself into gearing up and going, I give up and realize no matter how much I want to finish this skill, it’s not one that will happen quickly. I figured out how long it would take to finish up the last 2 levels just from the charms Bork drops – 323 days. Pretty pathetic, right? A part of the problem, along with being pushy, is my melee skills are maxed so the exp I get for the kills isn’t doing much. So I try to gear up and range greater demons; my range level needs work and all I really want are the charms so it’s no loss. You know I did that for a long time, then realized the amount of time I was there vs. the amount of charms I got was a poor ratio compared to waterfiends or rock lobsters (if I could get there). I’d spend 8 hours in Gu’Tanoth and only get, maybe on a good day, 150 charms in total, not just crimsons. I can get 150 crims in 3 hours at waterfiends. Also, I have to keep making laws due to all that tele grabbing and runecrafting is right on my shitlist for skills to train. I haven’t found a way to get myself motivated or a method I like for charm collecting. Ranging was so bad because I could read a book, but my eyes started to get weird vision lines from switching between the monitor and little print. I do put genie lamps, books of knowledge and peng points in summoning. I suppose what I could do is give up on reaching 99 summoning like I did with herblore and do something else. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a skill I like doing more than either of those. This is such a whinefest for a post and I feel like a dork for writing/posting it. But that’s pretty well why SoG content has gone into the toilet lately, nothing to do with Men Shen either.
