Never been more dissapointed with Jagex, was supposed to be 2.7x down to 1.1x over ten hours, after about 3 hours it was already down to 1.5 or so, 1.1 at only the 6:30 mark Ok so not everything I post is going to be a rant about real life. The Runescape xp bonus weekend has started and I felt like typing while my little guy smiths enough iron bolts to supply an army for a year… not getting near the amount of bonus xp everyone else seems to be getting, but I’m low level and using the bonus to raise my smithing since that’s the skill I want 99 in first, plus I didn’t really do anything to prepare other than not spending any money for the last few days. If I don’t have the 99 next time I’ll be sure to stock up on adamant bars long before the beginning of the weekend. This is pretty cool though, looks like about ten of us at the anvils in Varrock on Server 48, trying to break the Anvils toay. Kind of dissapointed with how fast the bonus is dropping, it’s supposed to be going from 2.7x to 1.1x over 10 hours, I’ve only been on just under 3 hours and it’s already down to 1.9x. I did asume though that 2.7x meant we’d get a total of 2.7x the normal rate, we’re actually getting the base amount plus 2.7x (Or whatever the modifier is at when you get the xp) I assumed after the ten hours when it was parked at 1.1x we’d actually be getting 110% of the xp amount, but we’ll actually be getting 210% until the end of the event, which is awesome. Out of bars! Back to work, update on bonus xp later… Enjoy the spoils of this video is great for what it is today nobody dharoks BH or subscribe to anything, if you enjoyed! Just like the penguins, locations change usually o So it’s been quite sometime since I’ve posted. I really do apologize for this, there has just been so much going on in my life. It’s hard to say why I haven’t found the time. I’m going to try and commit to blogging at least 3 times a week from now on though. for my own sake, and Katie likes reading them too After all of this time away I really dont have much to say. Me and Katie have gotten a lot better. We had been having a really rough time, but things have gotten so much better. Lets just say that we are feeling the way he haven’t in a long time. It’s great. Baseball has started, and I’m having fun. My favorite sport, It’s going to be good. I started playing RuneScape again. No hate. It’s fun, and believe me or not, it makes my mind move a certain way that only it can make it move. It’s hard to explain. It’s good though. It brings back some great memories as well. As pointless and foolish as it may seem, I really gain a lot from it. It’s deeper than a time wasting game for me. Beastly Plus you don’t want none of this Well I want to write more but I really can’t bring myself to go on any further. It’s time for a good nights rest. Maybe I’ll give a quick update at school tomorrow. Later Days Lost in the book of updates this week the mini-games are now activities and we have yet another. This new minigame activity, Shattered Heart has to my surprise something very large to do with skills with very little to no adventures into killing slayer tasks or fending off high level boss monsters. The basic overall look at the new activity is that stones/shards of a statue are found while performing tasks in 15 different skills. Its almost a D&D but then its really just something of its own category. I like the sense that you don’t need a team, much like the way penguins are now you can use a clan which has all the penguins trapped for your pleasure to go around and find them all. It also involves the aspect of the Circus in the sense of getting exp and a reward for performing an action correctly based on your level in that skill, if that makes sense. Everyone can play and you don’t have to talk to anyone to begin playing. Once you start training that skill your chances of getting that rock improve. As a player you begin by gathering 2 rocks from all 15 skills. It has taken me anywhere from 10-30 min, the first rock will always take the longest. As you continue to train that skill the second rock is said to be the fastest coming in under 1/2 the time it took to get the first. This mini-game is not based on levels or on what you train in order to get the rocks it is all at random . After you have gathered your rocks you can bring them to the museum in Varrock north of the east bank and exchange them with the museum workers inside the door. They will chat with you for a wile, after that you can add two rocks from the same skill on the newly placed black demolished slab of rock. Finishing the statue you can receive 10 extra kudos for the museum and a bit more exp in all of those different skills. A total of 900 rocks are said to be needed to be collected (30 weeks). I think it will be worth it since over that time I will gain upwards of 192-210k free exp in 15 different skills (2.9m+ overall)! There is supposed to be a special reward at the end but no one can claim it quite yet… 15 Different Skills: Agility, Construction, Cooking, Crafting, Farming, Firemaking, Fishing, Fletching, Herblore, Hunter, Mining, Runecrafting, Smithing, Thieving, Woodcutting My new pal Chef Sanders really helped me out on Smoking Kills. Couldn’t have finished without If you are a member you might find a strange rock in your inventory while doing skills training. Run I really need to start writing these a little earlier if I’m going to get them out by 16:00 every Friday, oh well. The reason this week is that my life seems to have been completely consumed by Lionhead Studio’s Fable II. You may have noticed my quick message last week (which got more views than my damned story!) concerning my illness, I’ve taken the week off university and it didn’t take long for Fable II to take over. It appears that Runescape isn’t the only game capable of doing such a thing. If any of you are concerned, I’m feeling much better and my tonsils hardly hurt at all – however it has meant that I haven’t been able to drink for the past week because of the penicillin, curse you medicine! In fact doubly curse you, because I’m just that retarded that I simply can’t swallow tablets and have found myself being choked by the very things that are supposed to make me feel better. Madness. Anyway, during my week off I’ve been able to fully plan my dissertation topic for next year. This may sound boring but the title is going to be; Social, Environmental and Economic Issues of Energy Recovery Facilities – or something with those words in it. Energy Recovery is the use of incinerators to generate energy from household or industrial waste and requires a great deal less energy to run than it produces. However in the past it has always had a negative stigma about it, with people never wanting it near them – saying that no one wants any form of energy production near them; the Dengie Peninsula in Essex is great example of this. They had a Nuclear Power Station at Bradwell, they protested and it eventually got shutdown after a shift away from Nuclear Power, but to help fill the energy gap the government tried to put Wind Generators in the area and surprise surprise they didn’t want that either. Even the ‘green’ form of energy is hated by a disturbingly large number of the populace, with a shockingly large number of anti-climate change and anti-green energy groups on Facebook. Saying all this, I haven’t actually started writing it yet, but I am being proactive – in fact I’m going to a conference on the subject in London on the 19th March and I’ve become a member of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management . Yeh a rather short post this week, but in truth not much has happened really – things are going to pick up soon with the starts of the new Baseball and F1 seasons later this month. I’ll see you next week then. If you want more to read then head on over the Gaming Corner that has three new reviews within the last week: Bioshock 2 , Fable II and Saints Row 2 – a massive sequelfest. Talking of the Gaming Corner, I need someone to design me a header for the page that incorporates the logos of the major players in the gaming world: Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony and maybe some older console logos like the N64 and the PS2 and so on. If you can design stuff then please let me know. CraigE I don’t play runescape. However this weekend is a bonus xp weekend. So if you want to check it out its a good time to start. The notice says On the weekend of the 12th of March 2010, we will be running a “bonus XP weekend” for RuneScape members. When? Between the hours of 12:00PM GMT on Friday 12th March and 12:00PM GMT Monday 15th March (so, all of that Saturday and Sunday). |
